Biography

Carlo Fornaini earned his Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1980 and Apprenticeship in Dentistry at the Dental Division of Hospital of Parma during the years 1980-81. Later, he received his Postgraduate Diploma in “Interceptive Orthodontics” at the University of Pavia in 1995,  Postgraduate Diploma in “ TMJ Pathology” at the University of Milan in 2000,  Postgraduate Diploma in “Use of laser in Dentistry” at the University of Florence in 2002, DU in “Oral Laser Applications” at the University of Nice in 2005, European Master Degree in Oral Laser Applications at the University of Nice in 2008.

He is currently AUR (Atttaché Universitaire de Recherche)  and Coordinator and Teacher  at the EMDOLA (European  Master Degree in Oral Laser Applications) at the  University of Nice Sophie Antipolis (France),  C.Professor of the Graduate Course “Applications of laser technology in dentistry” in  the Dental School  and Coordinator and Teacher  of EMDOLA  (European  Master Degree in Oral Laser Applications) at the  Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Parma (Italy),  Visiting Professor at the University of Vilnius (Lithuania) and University of La Plata (Argentina).

He is author of 150 Peer-review publications (46 indexed in PubMed), co-Author of the book “Laser Welding” edited by Sciyo Int. and has co-operated with Prof. JP Rocca to the volume “Les Lasers en Odontologie” (Ed. CdP) and with Prof. P.Vescovi to the volume” Osteonecrosis and Bisphosphonates” edited by Tecniche Nuove. 

He is member of the International Editorial Board of the reviews: “LASER THERAPY” (Japan), “OPEN JOURNAL OF STOMATOLOGY” (USA),  “JOURNAL OF ORAL HEALTH AND RESEARCH” (India) ,“MEDICINA ORAL, PATOLOGIA ORAL Y CIRUGIA BUCAL”(Spain), “INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE OF LASER DENTISTRY” (Germany), “JOURNAL OF LASER AND HEALT ACADEMY” (Slovenia), INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF STOMATOLOGICAL RESEARCH (USA), INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ORAL AND CRANIOFACIAL SCIENCE (India), THE JOURNAL OF DENTISTS (USA).

He is also Past President of IPTA (International Photo Therapy Association) and President of  INTERNATIONAL LASER DENTISTRY MASTER ACADEMY.

He is currently pursuing his PhD in  “Information Technologies" at the University of Parma.
